Kid Chores

It is so hard to get my kids to do their chores. So, I finally came up with another idea on how to get it accomplished.

I wrote a bunch of different chores on sticks and put them in a can. Every morning the kids draw 3 chores out of the can. It can range from cleaning out the microwave, vacuuming, or even washing the walls. To make it more fun, there are also blank sticks with no chores, and a few sticks with 15 minutes of xbox or nintendo playing. Thing is though, if it's not a chore, they don't get a point for it.

Every chore they do they get a point written on the white board. For every 20 points they get, they get a quarter. So far, this has had a really good outcome with the kids. Both Brayden and Madison ask me every day if they can draw their chores for the day. How can I tell them no. My house still might not be super clean, but my kids are learning responsibility and they are enjoying it. What more could I ask for?

..... Oh, I know... no fighting. lol.
