Pinewood Derby

I know, long time no blogged, but man, I've been busy.

I have made myself a personal goal to at least blog about the things we do as a family. With the cold weather, we don't get out much, and family time at home with all the colds going around have ended in just relaxing and watching movies, going to bed early, and sad kids. lol.

Anyway, back in January Brayden had his annual Pinewood Derby. I love the Pinewood Derby!

The best thing about Brayden is he doesn't want to win, he wants to do it all himself. You get to see all the cars the kids have, and you know more than the majority of them where made by their dad. Well, not Brayden's. He carefully drew out his design, and the only thing dad did was cut it for him. He sanded it by himself, he got the weights for it, he had dad drive him to the post office MANY times to weigh the car, he painted it, and he even put the thumb tack head lights into place.

After about a hour of fun watching all 21 scouts racing their cars, and the computer calculating who scored what... Brayden placed 19 out of 21.

So his car wasn't the fastest, so his wheels wobbled if it went to fast, so what that he didn't have the coolest looking car there, he still made me super proud. He did it himself, and he learned what he could do better next time.

He's already planning what his rocket will look like for the Space Derby, and what his sail boat will look like too. lol.
