Soccer Pratice

Saturday morning we had our 1st soccer practice. The turn out was pretty good. All but 2 showed up. One is in Mexico with his mom, the other was on a trip to Idaho. At practice I did a lot of calistenics. During the summer most of these boys don't run around like they do in soccer. I had them run a lap around the field, do ladders, 3 groups play and other stuff. Let's just say I worked them hard. I worked myself hard too. Talk about being a bit sore.

Practice is about an hour and a half. I did identify my goalies and a couple of my defense. I do have a few kids who never have played soccer before and just don't have it understood, more work for them, but we'll manage with a good field setup. I have about 4 practices before our 1st game. I wish Springville city would get the teams together before they did. In the past I would do 10 practices before our 1st game. I am super excited though. I love soccer. Practices will be Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. Once games start I still hold practices every Tuesday.

I finally got Madison's team rooster too. I will hold her 1st practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays for about an hour while Brayden is at football practice. Her first game is the following Tuesday. I will get only two practices with her team. I am not to worried about them. This is just cub soccer so there isn't any positions. Basically you just point in the direction they are to run and kick the ball. For these games the coaches are the refs. Once these games start, I usually don't hold practices for I am just to busy. I do have a assistant coach this year, one of the parents volunteered to help me out. That will be nice.

So, Brayden will have footballs games on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Soccer games every Thursday and Saturday. Madison will have games every Tuesday and Saturday. I will miss Brayden's football on Tuesdays, and I won't be able to coach 2 of Madison's soccer games on Saturday because of the time conflicts with Brayden's soccer games. His games must have myself there to coach. I will let the parent helper do those games without me.
