Aquarium Fun

Saturday after soccer practice Devin took the kids to see the new Starwars Cartoon movie. I think everyone loves starwars but me. Oh well.

When they got back I decided since this was our last Saturday together before school starts and the soccer season really starts up that we would head to the aquarium in Sandy. We've been before when it was at the Gateway Mall, but hadn't ever been to the new building in Sandy.

We had a lot of fun looking at all the fish and sea life. It really is amazing to see them up close. I was a little disappointed though to see that they hadn't gotten anything new since they were located at the Gateway. They had the same old stuff, and basically the same set up. I wish we had more time and money because I'd love to take them to a real aquarium. The Monteray Bay aquarium is just awesome. They do hope in the future to get enough money to build this huge aquarium with the shark tank you walk through. They have their plans hanging up on the wall. That will be cool if they really get the funding for it.

Afterwords we ate out and made it home in time for the kids regular bedtimes. It was a lot of fun. I love doing things as a family, even when my kids are arguing half the time on the trip. lol.

The kids in front of Utah's original, the rainbow trout.

Brayden and Madison touching the Bat Ray. I touched it too. Feels a little slimy but really soft and smooth.

Devin with Brayden and Madison at the Bat Ray exhibit.

The octopus. He was pretty cool. Didn't move around, just laid there and blinked.

Brayden and Madison playing in the cave.

Chloe wanted a turn too. Of course one of the kids had to give her bunny ears.

Even though it's not the greatest picture because it was dark, and I didn't want to use the flash so you could see the jellyfish glow, it still turned out pretty cool. These jellyfish are practically sea-thru (get it, haha.), so they had changing color lights in the exhibit so you could see them. Those red things in the background are the jellyfish. Jellyfish are really amazing creatures.

That really is a cool pic of the jelly fish! The comment about the octopus just sitting there blinking made me laugh. LOL.
