My kids love rock collecting. There is this strip of dirt between our driveway and my neighbors (we have long driveways) where the original plans were to plant something. BUT, there is too much effort involved to maintain it, so we are letting the kids put their rock collections there.
My mom had us drive her truck since my van probably couldn't handle the dirt roads and climbs. lol.
Kim and Kyler was also invited and drove up with them, so did Brayden. So we had the girls with us in my moms truck.
First we headed to the Vernon hills with our rock picks in hand (thanks to Brian) and big buckets. Everyone had a blast digging into the rocks gathering Wonderstone.
Chloe immedietly started picking up rocks, she didn't care what she was gathering. Luckily, most of the loose rocks were Wonderstone.
Brayden working away.
After spending a lot of time gathering Wonderstone, we stopped by an old mine.
After the mine, the boys and my mom walked up the steep trail to where we were going to stop and collect Agate rocks, while the rest of us piled into Brian's jeep for a little four wheeling adventure up the mountain side.
Madison digging into the mountain to get her Agate.
And of course I couldn't resist ... I had to make a couple layouts.
I've been pretty bad at keeping up, but now with it warming up, maybe I'll be on top of it more, maybe. lol.
