Pantheon Crypt - November 24, 08

Covering the entire area under the building, the crypt divides into galleries flanked by Doric columns. Many French notables rest there.

Here I am, heading down into the crypt.

The main hall in the crypt.

Marie Curie's the top tomb, and Pierre Curie is the bottom tomb. Out of all the tombs in the crypt, they had the most flowers. Both of these people were nobel Laureates in physics for their work on radium.

Here is a sign with their pictures on it that gives more information on why they were important.

This urn holds the heart of Leon Gambetta, 1838-1882. The third republic moved it here on November 11, 1920.
