First Day of School

Can you believe that summer break is finally over. It has gone by so fast, but at the same time, so slow.

Brayden had his first day in 3rd grade today, can you believe that, 3rd grade. He is getting so big. He has several different classes to go too with different teachers each time. They have the traditional model where they stay with just 1 teacher in this grade, or they can do this model. In this model they get an additional math class, applied mathmatics. He said there were a lot of rules to go over today, all the same as last year, but he did tell me he meet a new kid in the school and they are now friends, his name is River.

While Brayden was at school Madison went and took her Kindergarten assessment. They quizzed her on her numbers, alphabet and alphabet sounds, colors, basic math, rhymes, and beginning and ending sounds in words. She did perfect! My goal has been to always get my kids reading a little bit and to have down the sight words before they start Kindergarten. I find it nice knowing they can read before they start school.

Even though Brayden was missed (Madison never stopped asking when we would go pick him up from school), I have to admit, it was nice not having my kids argue.

My little man, 1st day in 3rd grade. Can you believe he'll be 9 in less than 20 days. Crazy!

Now that Brayden is going to school, Madison is sooo antsy for her turn. She doesn't start until next Wednesday, the 27th. Another week and then it will be just little Chloe and I. Madison will go half day in the afternoons.

How fantastic! I love the idea of the different model, with more math. I'm always a fan of math!!!

My girls start school next Wednesday, and I'm pretty excited for them! Aarynn is in 4th grade! And Lily in 1st! How do these kids grow up so quickly!?!

Wow...it was just yesterday that Brayden said "tards" instead of "cards." LOL. He is SO big!
(Too cute that Madi missed him!)
