It sounds funny to say this, but we had to make our reservations to eat at certain resturants at Disney World already. They say you should do it 180 days in advance, but, I'm thinking 147 days in advance is good enough for us. lol.
I am glad I went ahead and did the reservations now, it was honestly hard to get the time we wanted to eat at some of the resturants. We made it work out just fine.
We decided to eat dinner at the following places at Disney World:
Planet Hollywood
Mama Melrose Ristorante Italiano
Rainforest Cafe
Sci-Fi Dine In Theater
Whispering Canyon Cafe
Chef Mickey (character dining)
Saturday night we'll eat at our resort, and breakfast and lunches we usually eat at places that aren't so busy and not as expensive.
The Sci-Fi Diner is a fun place, you sit in cars made into tables as you watch a movie.
The Whispering Canyon Cafe is a hoot too, you get to do the Hockey Pokey and ride your own hobby horse around, as well as playing with Lincoln Logs before you get seated.
Chef Mickey will be expensive as is any character dining, but it will be fun.

WOW!!! Sounds like a BLAST!! Good thing you didn't wait until day 146 to make the reservations. LOL.
Like I said before....I'm so Jealous!!!! My kids would be in heaven! You guys are going to have the best trip ever!
We absolutly love Disney. It's been a great family tradition. As soon as June rolls around the kids are impatiently waiting to see where we are going to be staying.
Disney World is a Blast! I think my friend Julie and I went on the Tower of Terror 7 times. Someday I want to take my little family, but probably not until they are older!
