Face-Lift Part 1

I finally got sick of what my basement looked like after living in our house for over 5 years. We moved in and left the basement exactly how it was when we moved in. It wasn't bad or anything, just plain.

I figured that if I was planning on living here for several more years, I needed to give it a face-lift and make some changes to make it feel like home again.

It all started with me buying matching sofa and futon covers; a tan micro-leather material. Then I wanted to add some color. So I bought blue material, some solid, a little strips, and paisley. I've made pillow covers, window treatments, and even reupholstered my glider rocker. Nice!

Then to make it brighter and feel even more 'newer'. I decided to paint.

I primed everything then painted the ceiling, baseboards, and trims all in vermont cream. Then I painted the walls in cool sky. It's so refreshing, relaxing and calm. I love it. I need to do another coat on the walls.

I even bought some new light fixtures!

After I'm done painting, it's back to putting the furniture where they need to go. And then I need new things to hang up. I'm keeping the pictures of the kids, but I need a few new fun things to live up the room.

Can't wait to show it off. I'll take pictures soon and promise to post them.
