Saturday's Fun

Saturday after Chloe had her nap, we decided since it was overcast, and wouldn't be so hot, we would go to the zoo.

We had a lot of fun. They had little activities going on at the zoo too. They had a Teddy Bear Picnic with some arts and crafts for the kids. They got to paint and make a bookmark with stamps. It was sponsored by Roberts and Stampin' Up. I got this cute little keychain. It does advertise Stampin' Up, but I can remove that part and then I'll use it. (I hate advertising, which is why I don't buy clothes that say name brands on the front.)

It actually still got pretty hot while we were there. We did take a long break to eat Ice Cream cones and Icees which helped quit a bit.

Chloe loved watching all the animals, as long as they moved. If they just sat there sleeping or not moving, she got pretty bored and wanted to go somewhere else. It is so fun to see her so interested in things around her now that she is older. She loved the Meerkats and this big lizard that moved around. She also thought the doorstop was pretty cool too and kept walking back to check it out. lol.

Getting ready to go into the zoo.

Family picture in front of the elephant exhibit.

Playing in the water.

My little monkeys.

As we left we decided that since were were in the area, we would also hit up Clarks Planetarium. The kids love the planetarium. Madison's favorite planet is Saturn and Brayden's Mars, because it's Red. Chloe loved looking and touching the meteorites. We only stayed for about 45 minutes but nevertheless, it was still very much enjoyed.

They love this thing!

You stand on this and it weighs you and then you can click on each planet, and it tells you how much you would weigh on that planet. It was pretty fun.

So cute when they get along!

The pendulum.

My little meteorologists.

When we got home it started pouring on us. The kids asked if they could go run around in the rain. We had already ate dinner and was just going to get in the showers, so I told them they could. They had a lot of fun running around getting soaking wet. A few times our backdoor was left open too, so our floor got really wet. Our floor was so wet it soaked up an entire towel and still didn't dry up until the next day. But, it was fun.

This picture was at the start of the rain fall. Eventually they got soaked all the way through their clothes when they were done outside. Their clothes are still wet on my laundry room floor.

LOL. Talk about a cram packed day! But seriously, it is so great that y'all can do things like that as a family because those are the things memories are made of. (LOL. That sounded like a Hallmark card.)

Ooh! I wish we had a zoo nearby! What fun for the family! Busy day, but full of lots of exciting learning opportunities for the kids! I love those kinds of days!
