I wish I could figure out some way to get my kids out of the house more, because all day long, until it's after dinner and has cooled down, they don't want to go outside because it's "soooo hot!". They only want to sit in the house and play video games or computer. Now they aren't allowed to just play whenever, they do have time limits. For every 25 minutes of reading Brayden does, he's allowed to play for a while. And the same goes for Madison, although she doesn't hit the 25 minute mark, we do it by book. She's learning to read so I have to read with her to help her sound out words and such.
My goal is to get her reading by the time she gets into kindergarten next month. Brayden was so easy to get going, but Madison, she's a little bit tougher. I know every kid is different and I am ok with that.
Tonight after dinner we did go on our regular walk around the blocks... the kids riding their bikes, Devin pulling the wagon with Chloe in it, and me walking the dog. When we got home, the kids begged to go around the blocks again, this time with me on my bike. So, Devin brought Chloe in the house to get her in the bath. After going around again, Madi went in, then Brayden and I went around several different blocks. I am glad to say, not beat up about riding so much. :D
Oh, by the way, I made the Lemon Tart tonight for dessert, so delicious! The kids split one in half because it's so tarty... I even added the cup of sour cream to help tone it down a bit. So good. I bought Quiche pans instead of the tart ones because I like the removable bottoms. The only difference is the Quiche pans are a little bit deeper than tart pans, besides that, same size, same shape. Did I mention that I love Williams Sonoma!

When you find something let me know! Seriously! Its so hard because the only time they want to go out is after dinner and before you know it, it's time to go to bed!
Can you believe that school is starting in 3 1/2 weeks?!?!? Where did the summer go?
