Granny B's sugar cookies, yummy!

I love those Granny B's pink frosting sugar cookies. I really do. I know most of you are probably thinking how gross, but I love them, I can't help it. I love how the cookie is soooo super soft, and then on top of that delicious soft cookie is a yummy sweet pink frosting, with sprinkles.

Well, after conference last night, Madison and I decided to make a batch of my version of Granny B's sugar cookies. So, after much mixing and mangling recipes, I finally have the absolute best copy-kat version. Here's my version of Granny B's sugar cookie.

Granny B's Sugar Cookie
AKA: Mama Parker's Sugar Cookies

1 cup semi-melted margarine
1 cup sour cream
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 t. vanilla
1/2 t. baking soda
1/2 t. salt
4 t. baking powder
5 1/2 - 6 1/2 cups flour

1. Cream together margarine and sugar.
2. Add eggs and sour cream, beat well with electric mixer, then hand stir in the vanilla.
3. In a separate bowl, mix together the dry ingredients and then add into the margarine mixture.
4. Mix until well combined. The dough should be thick. Start with 5 1/2 cups flour and keep adding flour until the dough sticks to itself more than it sticks to your fingers.
5. Roll dough onto a well floured covered surface to 1/2 inch thick.
6. Cut with circle cookie cutter and place on a sprayed cookie sheet about an inch apart. (Depending on size of cookie cutter depends on how many cookies you'll get.)
7. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes.
8. When done, remove immediately from cookie sheet to prevent over baking and cool on a wire rack.
9. Cookies should be fluffy and soft.
10. Once cooled, top with frosting and sprinkles.
11. Eat and enjoy, YUM!

For the pink frosting I buy any brand white fluffed or whipped frosting. I add a few drops of red food coloring until I get the pink color I want. Then top with sprinkles.
