The Bike Rodeo was a blast. Although the sun was out, it was windy and that wind made it super cold.
Parks Sportsman were very good sports. Even when the little kids brought there little bikes, you know, the ones that aren't real bikes but have wheels... they would put them on their bike stands and check them out for the little ones.
My goal was to have 100 people show up, and I bet we did. Even though the school has over 700 students, I was glad with the outcome that did show up.
I was in charge of doing the helmet checks and making sure the helpers who were helping me knew how to do it too. I'm glad they were their to help, because at times, we did get a line. I'm also glad I did the helmet check. Only 2 students that I saw need just a little adjustment, every other kid needed huge adjustments. I was shocked to see that parents just bought helmets, put them on them, and called it good. Most weren't even tight under the chin, or didn't have the straps adjusted to fit them properly. Some even had their helmets up so high that their foreheads weren't' protected.
I'm glad I was there to help, that really made me feel good knowing that I properly fitted their helmets.

Oh good! Glad it was fun and that all those little kiddos are safe now on their bikes...or trikes. :-)
